Acorna's People is the fast-paced third installment in the celebrated Acorna series. The epic narrative brings a long-running interplanetary mystery to a grand resolution as Acorna at last uncovers the universe's most carefully guarded secret—the true, ancient biological link connecting the hoofed, telepathic Linyaari race to the space-faring human civilizations she has grown to adopt as her own. Blending colorful character studies with a decided sense of cosmic menace, the text crafts an uncompromised universe that explores identity, displacement, and technological evolution across the stars.
This volume represents a passing of the torch as the legendary Anne McCaffrey pairs her unmatched mythological pacing with the brilliant, Hugo and Nebula award-winning world-building of Elizabeth Ann Scarborough.
Anne McCaffrey (1926 – 2011) remains celebrated as one of the most influential, barrier-breaking forces in the history of science fiction. Born in Massachusetts, she later immigrated to Ireland, where she established her famous writing studio. McCaffrey was the first woman to receive both the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award for science fiction, alongside being the inaugural female writer to break onto the New York Times Best Seller list. Her monumental Dragonriders of Pern universe seamlessly merged hard science with high fantasy, earning her a coveted, permanent induction into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame.
Elizabeth Ann Scarborough (1947 – Present) is a highly acclaimed American science fiction and fantasy author who initially served as a nurse during the Vietnam War—an intense real-world background that helps shape the empathetic, survivalist themes of her fiction. Scarborough won the prestigious Nebula Award for Best Novel for her landmark work The Healer's War and has spent decades collaborating with top genre master.
