"Through all his sightseeing Bob thought of the English lad who had taught him so much - but who had seemingly made away with Bob's mother's precious locket. Little did the Americans know under what difficulties Tom was struggling to return it to them!"
Madeline Brandeis (1897 – 1937) was a children's book author and film producer and director. She was best known for her "Children of America" and "Children of All Lands" book series. She illustrated her books with photographs from her travels, often casting her daughter Marie as the main character for stories about little girls. She also founded The Little Players' Film Co., which during the Silent Film era produced eight films geared to children.

Condition*: Very Good. Missing dust jacket (the front flap was laid in the book, probably used as a book mark). Blue cloth quarter bound cloth cover: Head and tail of the spine and corners are lightly bumped; fraying of cloth on lower spine suggests insect damage; small indentation along top front cover; light soiling from handling. Inside: Small stamp of original bookseller, top left corner of pastedown; front flyleaf is clipped. Pages are clean, undamaged, and complete.
