Excellent copy of the 1987 edition of The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. A tiny seed survives the journey to landing someplace long enough to take root and grow into a beautiful flower.
Written and illustrated by Eric Carle. 1987 first edition thus (originally published 1970). Picture Book Studio.
"It is Autumn.
A strong wind is blowing. It blows flower seeds high in the air and carries them far across the land. One of the seeds is tiny, smaller than any of the others. Will it be able to keep up with the others? And where are they all going?"
A tiny seed survives winds and oceans and deserts, birds and large feet, and boys picking flowers for girls, and grows into a beautiful flower. When it's fully grown, a strong wind loosens the flower's seeds and scatters them across the world.
Eric Carle (1929 - ) has designed and illustrated more than 70 books, most famously The Hungary Caterpillar. Carle's pictures are created using hand-painted paper cut into collages, which have often incorporated interactive elements such as die-cut pages, twinkle lights, and sounds. He's received the Children's Literature Legacy Award from the American Library Association and been nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen award for lifetime constributions to children's literature.
