The text for The Creation was translated from Hebrew and adapted by poet Stephen Mitchell and illustrated by Ori Sherman. Sherman (1933-1988) and his twin brother Ari were born in Israel. Ori studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, and he was identified with the San Francisco Renaissance. His work is held by the Judah L. Magnus Museum at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dust jacket: Two small tears on the front, taped from inside; one small closed tear on the back, along the foredge, taped from inside; two small chips at head and tail of the spine; small crimp on the front, top edge; shallow crease on the back; mild edge wear, slight ruffling along top edge. Back cover board has a tiny chip. Pages are clean, undamaged, and complete.
