The Blue Djinn of Babylon serves as the breathless second installment in the internationally bestselling Children of the Lamp universe. The narrative follows twelve-year-old twins John and Philippa Gaunt as they struggle to master their newly discovered, ancient djinn bloodlines. When the legendary Solomon Grimoire goes missing, the twins are swept into a high-stakes, international game of cat-and-mouse tracking from New York to the ancient streets of Istanbul—unwittingly stepping straight into a cold-blooded, supernatural trap.
P. B. Kerr (Philip Kerr, 1956 – 2018) was a celebrated and versatile Scottish author whose literary footprint shaped both modern crime fiction and youth fantasy. Born in Edinburgh, Kerr achieved critical and commercial acclaim with his gritty, historically precise Bernie Gunther noir thrillers set in WWII-era Berlin. Driven by a desire to write something magnificent for his own children, he stepped away from the adult thriller market to craft the seven-book Children of the Lamp epic, showcasing an extraordinary ability to weave ancient Middle Eastern mythology into the chaotic architecture of the modern world.
