Randolph Caldecott (1846 – 1886) was an English artist and illustrator whose influence on 19th century children's book illustration endures. For the first time, he told stories with words and pictures that could tell the story on their own. The Caldecott Medal awarded for achievements in children's book illustration was named in his honor.

Condition*: Reading Copy. Illustrated cloth cover boards. Binding has come apart and front and back covers are detached and worn. Corners torn at page 4 of Ride a Cock-Horse and page 2 of Mrs. Blaize. Story pages are clean but loose, the copyright page is missing, and the front and back flyleaves are detached.
