The Serpent's Shadow delivers the action-packed, high-stakes grand finale to Rick Riordan’s acclaimed Kane Chronicles trilogy. Sibling magicians Carter and Sadie Kane reach a dramatic turning point as the ancient Egyptian forces of Chaos break completely loose. The apocalyptic Chaos snake, Apophis, threatens to consume and destroy the earth in a mere three days' time. With the traditional Egyptian pantheon of gods rapidly disappearing and those who remain rendered critically weak, the burden of saving humanity falls squarely on a handful of teenage magical trainees. Carter and Sadie must execute a nearly impossible plan that requires them to trust the unpredictable ghost of a psychopathic magician who could easily betray or murder them before the battle even begins.
Riordan's masterful blending of authentic Egyptian history, hieroglyphic magic, and fast-paced humor makes this final volume a must-have for fans and collectors of modern youth mythological fantasy.
