Howard Wandrei (1909 - 1956) was the brother of Donald Wandrei, the more well-known writer of the two at the time due to Howard's use of numerous pseudonyms. In fact he wrote over 200 stories across many genres. His mysteries were collected into The Last Pin (1996). Time Burial (1995) was a collection of fantasy stories. The Eerie Mr. Murphy is a companion to Time Burial, thus considered Volume II.
Mr. Murphy is divided into two sections:
Part 1: All known published fantasies not included in Time Burial.
Part 2: Juvenalia (earliest stories written in his youth) and unpublished fiction.
