Isaac Bashevis Singer (1902 - 1991) was a Nobel laureate in literature, and in addition to his short stories and novels for adults, he remains beloved for the stories he wrote for children.
This collection of 35 stories includes most of the stories for children Singer wrote up to 1984, when the book was published, including Zlateh the Goat, The Parakeet Named Dreidel, The Day I Got Lost, and The Power of Light. (Some stories were previously published in The Atlantic, The New York Times, and other newspapers and journals.)
