'The Pilgrim's Progress: From This world to That Which is to Come - Delivered under the similitude of a dream'

"As I walked through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place where where was a Den; and I laid me down in that place to sleep: and as I slept I dreamed a dream. ..."

John Bunyan (1628 – 1688), a Puritan preacher in England, published The Pilgrim's Progress in 1678, a complex allegory based on the main character's dream of heaven and hell. Bunyan's book is considered one of the most important works of Christian English literature, and has never gone out of print.
