First edition of "He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown!" by Charles M. Schulz. Snoopy suddenly starts acting strange, so Charlie sends him to Daisy Hill Puppy Farm for obedience training, with a stop at Peppermint Patty's along the way.

Written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz. Stated first edition, 1968. The World Publishing Company, Cleveland and New York.

"What do you do when everyone in the neighborhood is complaining about your dog? Snoopy had certainly been acting up lately and the kids were demanding that Charlie Brown do something about it."

Snoopy is misbehaving so badly that Charlie decides to send him back to Daisy Hill Puppy Farm for an obedience training refresher course. Since it's too far for Snoopy to get their in one day, Charlie arranges for him to stay overnight with their old friend Peppermint Patty, who lives half-way. But Snoopy takes advantage of Patty's hospitality and decides to make a vacation out of it. She calls Charlie that her wayward house guest is being a pain and Snoopy's in trouble again, and Patty puts him to work on chores around the house. He misses Charlie and is so desperate not to go back to Daisy Hill that he sneaks out and goes home. Charlie's so happy to see his buddy he makes him a deal. Cute out the strange behavior and no Daisy Hill. Done! And they live happily ever after.

The 1960s are considered the Golden Age of the Peanuts franchise, when creator Charles M. Schulz added several classic characters: Peppermint Patty, Snoopy as the "World War One Flying Ace", Frieda with her "naturally curly hair", and Franklin, an African-American boy who Charlie befriends at the beach.

One of the most-admired characteristics of Schulz's work was his ability to gently and persuasively engage in social commentary of the time.

From Wikipedia:

"Schulz did not explicitly address racial and gender equality issues so much as assume them to be self-evident. Peppermint Patty's athletic skill and self-confidence is simply taken for granted, for example, as is Franklin's presence in a racially integrated school and neighborhood. ... The fact that Charlie Brown's baseball team had three girls was also at least ten years ahead of its time."
