The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time. A 1997 guide to The Wheel of Time with additional artwork, maps, and other "objects of Power".

Written by Robert Jordan and Theresa Patterson. Illustrated by Todd Cameron Hamilton. Maps and ornaments by Ellisa Mitchell and John M. Ford. Maps by Thomas Canty. Jacket illustrations by Darrell K. Sweet. First edition, November 1997. A Tor Book, published by Tom Doherty Associates, Inc.

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again."

Robert Jordan (1948 - 2007) was a nuclear engineer turned fantasy novelist who began writing in 2007. He's remembered for The Wheel of Time series and several Conan the Barbarian books.

From Wikipedia:

"The series draws on numerous elements of both European and Asian mythology, most notably the cyclical nature of time found in Buddhism and Hinduism, the metaphysical concepts of balance and duality, and a respect for nature found in Taoism. Additionally, its creation story has similarities to Christianity's "Creator" (Light) and Shai'tan, "The Dark One" (Shaytan is an Arabic word that in religious contexts is used as a name for the Devil). It was also partly inspired by Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (1869)."

This companion guide was published in 1997, between A Crown of Swords (1996) and The Path of Daggers (1998).
