The book begins with a woman and two girls approaching the cottage gate, which opens to reveal a cat sitting on the path. On the next page, they approach a charming thatched cottage. Step through the door to meet Lavinia. The last scene is a pop-up of the entire cottage with Lavinia looking through a window.
