Robert Sabuda (1965 - ) is an American artist and paper engineer who specializes in children's pop-up books. He developed an interest in paper engineering as a child, inspired by a pop-up version of Cinderella illustrated by Vojtěch Kubašta. His first pop-up book, The Christmas Alphabet, was published in 1994 and received critical acclaim. Since then, he has created The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Encyclopedia Prehistorica. He is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and talented paper engineers in the world, with The New York Times calling him "indisputably the king of pop-ups". He collaborates frequently with Matthew Reinhart, another pop-up book artist.
