The Durable Sex in its Infinite Variety Through Half a Century of American Life
The Durable Sex
"In this book you will find a large variety of women. Some of your favorites aren't here in person because the book is not a Who's Who. I am not trying to summarize "women's accomplishments," since that seems to imply that women have a life of their own apart from the rest of the body politic. I am trying to indicate various concepts and patterns of behavior that have influence American life in the past fifty years or so, with special regard to their impact upon women."
