Front Flap
"Especially for today's globally-minded children is this unique exploration of world history. Brief text and many thumbnail sketches in full color skillfully supplement each other to trace the fascinating course of civilizations.
"Here the reader may see the world as it begins to cool off, here man makes his appearance, plows his field in Egypt, and carves beautiful things from stone in Greece. Here he is - fighting, governing, dreaming, advancing through the centuries to modern times."
PLEASE NOTE: This book reflects certain viewpoints and the known history and science of the 1940s.
Mable Pyne (1903 - 1969) published her first book, From Morning to Night, in 1929. Her two books about the United States, The Little Geography of the United States (1941) and The Little History of the United States (1940), were both translated into Turkish, Korean, and Malay for the United States Information Agency. In addition to illustrating, she was also a fashion artist.
