Angela Mary Maddison (nee' Lincke) (1923 - 2014) wrote twenty-two Ant and Bee books under the pseudonym Angela Banner, and also illustrated the last four books. She began writing the stories to teach her son to read, and published the first book in 1950. The books feature simple words, lively and colorful illustrations, and the charming characters Ant, Bee, Kind Dog, and the Zoo Man.
Bryan Ward (1925 - 1987) was a British artist who worked as a freelance animator and illustrator at the height of the era of animated film. He illustrated all but the last four Ant and Bee books.

Condition*: Very Good. Missing dust jacket. Illustrated orange cloth cover boards: Moderate shelf wear; lightly bumped at corners; bumped at head and tail of the spine with small closed tear at the tail; rubbing along spine; light soiling, front and back, with a nickel-sized stain and a small stain on the back. Light purple crayon on title page and page 99, and light soiling from handling on some pages, else pages are undamaged and complete.
