Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the classical period. He composed over 600 works in various genres, many of which are considered masterpieces of symphonic, operatic, and choral music.
The Magic Flute is an opera in two acts, in the form of a Singspiel, a popular form during the time it was written that included both singing and spoken dialogue. The opera was composed in 1791, the last year of Mozart's life.
British illustrator Peter Malone has worked on over 100 books, a distinguished list that includes The Forest Child, The Adventures of Odysseus, The Kingfisher Book of Fairy Tales, and How Many Miles to Bethlehem? He is known for combining realism, fantasy, and humor. He has also illustrated for magazines, newspapers, and advertising campaigns.
