Inherit The Earth: Stories from Mexican Ranch Life is a collection of short stories by Alvin Gordon, based on his experiences as a rancher in Mexico. The stories depict the daily life, culture, and traditions of the Mexican people, as well as their struggles and joys. The stories are illustrated by Ted De Grazia, a renowned artist who captured the essence and beauty of Mexico in his paintings. The book is a tribute to the land and its people, who inherited the earth from their ancestors and preserved it for future generations.

Alvin Gordon was a Boston-born, Harvard-educated American author, actor and director who worked in Hollywood in the 1940s and 1950s, and documented his experiences living and working in Mexico.

Ettore "Ted" DeGrazia (1909-1982) was an American artist of many talents. He was born in Morenci, Arizona Territory, to Italian immigrants who worked in the copper mines and studied art at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Later, he studied in Mexico City with Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco. He became famous for his colorful images of Native American children and cultures of the American Southwest. His studio and gallery, the Gallery in the Sun, is now a museum and historic district.
