Marmouset is a charming little girl and the star of the Marmouset series of French-language children's books created as both teaching tools and fun reads.

In Les Cheveux de Marmouset, or Marmouset's Hair, she explains hair color, types of hair, hair styles, protecting hair from getting wet in the rain, washing the dog's hair, and washing and cutting her own hair.

"Chaque matin, Maman me brosse les cheveux. Tarfois elle me les coupe. Je n'aime pas ca, car il faut rester tranquille et cela chatouille dans le cou."

Each morning, Mom brushes my hair. Sometimes she cuts it for me. I don't like that, because you have to stay quiet and it tickles your neck.
