Ethel Clere Chamberlin (1886 - 1931) was an American author of children's books and historical fiction. She wrote several books about American history and culture: The Romance of Old Glory, The Story of Our Flag, and Shoes and Ships and Sealing Wax. She also wrote biographies of famous Americans, such as Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson.
Janet Laura Scott (1888 - 1968) illustrated many popular books, such as The Bobbsey Twins series by Laura Lee Hope, Little Lost Angel by Janet Field Heath, and Wild Flower Children by Elizabeth Gordon. She also painted landscapes, figures, and harbor views, mostly in Maine. She was known for her colorful and detailed style, and her ability to capture the charm and whimsy of childhood.
