Artist Bijou Le Tord's charming yet expertly done watercolors distill the complex beauty of the Psalms to a child's simpler understanding of God. Le Tord was born in St. Raphael, France in 1945 and attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon. She moved to New York City at eighteen and published her first book in 1976, A Perfect Place to Be. Le Tord has been a popular children's book author and illustrator with the American Library Association, Horn Books, and Publisher's Weekly, which named Sing a New Song "Best Religion Book for Children" for 1997. She's created more than twenty children's books, including Rabbit Seeds, Joseph and Nellie, and My Grandma Leonie, and other religious themed books, including Peace on Earth: A Book of Prayers from Around the World and Noah's Trees. She began a series on 20th century artists, and completed Monet and Matisse.
